It's been a loooonnnggggg time since I last posted anything on this blog, and I thought I'd change the direction in which this blog was intended. Originally, it was just to describe my feelings overall, but now I've been thinking about using it to express my feelings through the music I love while also giving my opinions on new albums, singles, EP's, etc..
Music has been a part of my life since birth. Growing up I was raised on operas, musicals, anything that was musical and and had a story, I was into it. My mom is extremely talented in every aspect of being an artist, which is where I discovered my passion for music also. I'm a drummer at heart and have been actively playing for over 10 yrs, but lately things have happened to make it a little harder for me to play, but luckily I'm fortunate enough to have a piano and some computer programs allowing me to still TRY (still pretty bad) to produce music in some fashion. Im into ALL types of music, ranging from country to underground hip-hop. Lately my hearts been into hip-hop, and not the wocka flocka-wayne bullshit.
Anyways, enough about me. Let's get down to whats playing in my Itunes at the moment.
"Same Story (My Dedication)"
Ft. Liz Fullerton, By: Vinnie Paz
This song really gets to me, not only because of the deep emotion Vinnie Paz portrays, but because I can relate in a way. My biological father never passed away, nor do I know him at all, but the relationship Vinnie has with his step-father is identical to the way my step-father and I are. Vinnie shows so much appreciation for what his step-father accomplished to him and his mother, being the fact that he treated his mother with an abundance of respect, working hard seven days a week trying to keep food on the table. My father has done the same since him and my mother met/married. I give kudos to Vinnie on this one; takes alot of pride to throw some lines like this and mean it 100%. This song definately makes you think and realize what you have in front of you, and that you shouldn't take family for granted.
You should also check the album out for sure. Vinnie Paz doesn't disappoint at all, constantly giving you some of his best work yet, while putting an intense amount of emotion into every last syllable.
2 thumbs up for sure!
Ill try to post every week, filling you kids in on the latest, and if something really good catches my eye, you might see multiple posts in a week. Till next time!
